Myanmar is experiencing major civil unrest and escalating armed conflict in many parts of the country since the military coup on the 1st of February 2021. Civilians caught in conflict zones are left without any option but to flee to remote jungles and safer places, leaving their homes and livelihood behind.
Myanmar (formerly Burma) is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis as a result of the February 2021 military coup, escalating armed conflict, COVID-19 pandemic and worsening economic crisis through the collapse of the financial system.
Myanmar is facing its 3rd-wave of COVID-19 which has now spread to 90% of the country. Coupled with a healthcare system already in a state of collapse, many lives have been unnecessarily lost due to lack of access to critical medical treatment and basic preventative essentials.
